country living fair 2011

Oh, happy day!

Look what I received in the mail today!

Are you going?

I am making my list...and counting the days.

I've rented a big 'ol cargo van and reserved the hotel.

Any ideas of places I should stop along the way!?

Because you know I want to turn every little shop and salvage yard along the way up-side-down!

*sigh...*

Have I ever told you how much I love these kind of roadtrips with the girls?? Yes. I think I have. Many, many times. But they are just so much fun! Shopping, laughing, shopping, eating, shopping...you get the idea.

So are you going too?? If you are...lets meet up!

  12. lucky you!! just found your blog and read it from the beginning - awesome! if i were close to you, i would be a regular customer of your furniture - love it! Since I am not, could you tell me what color/brand of white paint you use for your delicious furniture? Although, I know it will be tough, I would like to "attempt" to urban farmgirlize mine! Thanks, Maureen (mb99999@yahoo.com)

  13. Let me know if you want to stop at Zionsville, IN on the way! We have a cute little town with brick roads, an old time ice cream parlor and tons of artsy shops and antique shops all in town, a Goodwill Outlet {think cheap!!} near by, and a fabulous architectural salvage place down the road. They have several large barns filled with more items than you could even see in a week!!

  19. I live in Columbus and would love to meet up with you at the CL fair. Last year was the first time I attended and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We did a street sale the next day in our downtown suburb and many of the ladies that had come in from out of state attended and bought from us. The recurring thing they said was they were disappointed in the CL fair and probably would not come back again. They all said they enjoyed the street fair more, but alas, it is not the same weekend this year or I was going to recommend it to you. I did enjoy the CL fair, but I was going mainly for ideas. Everything was too pricey if you were hoping to buy for resale as I was. It is nicely done and beautiful and I hope an enjoyable time for you. If I can find any fleas along the way around this area, I will pass them on to you. Springfield, Ohio has a huge extravaganza flea in September, but I have not been able to find that date yet online. It would definitely be a place you would want to stop if it is the same weekend and would take the better part of a day to do. Springfield is about an hour + just before you get to Columbus right on Route 70. I will get back to you when I find out which weekend it is this year.

  20. I live an hour north in Marion, Ohio. I have gone the past two years and love it. Just like Cindy (Custom Comforts), I go for ideas and inspiration. I did buy a few small things. I enjoy the whole atmosphere. The setting is perfect. You may want to stop in Powell, Ohio (just north of Columbus), for antique and specialty shops. Would love to meet up with you at the CL fair.

  23. Make sure you make a stop in Short North while you are in town. Some great shops there including Bloomsbury Loft (which won't be at the CL Fair this year due to vendor price increases). There is a great antique mall in Reynoldsburg (Heritage Antique Mall) where you can ususally find some great deals.

  24. If I stick out my thumb will you pick me up?!

  26. Love to hear about your work & travels.

I'm curious if you ever posted on how you did the wall for your guest room? If you did, I missed the particulars.

Could you send me the appropriate link or post on how you did it?

I'm anxious to make one of my own.

    Thanks!

  30. Mary! I love your work and I loved seeing you again at the Kane. I hope to make it next month, too. Your work is so inspirational. I just started my own blog, would you do me the honor of clicking on me as a follower? I can be found at http://www.townandprairie.blogspot.com and will be featuring homedecor, antiques, seasonal decorating, chickens, bunnies, whatever fancies of the moment are occurring in my pea-brain. I just started posting, so I only have one post, but will surely have more by the end of the week. Love your work, keep up the good job! I hope you find lots of goodies for your business at the fair, Regards, Andrea Baumhardt PS There is a great architectural salvage yard in Champaign, I believe they can be found online but they are only open certain days of the week. You might find some cool things there.

In columbus there are a bunch of great shops in clintonville (which is where we are), as well as grandview and the short north, all close to down town. there are tons of awesome locals businesses and wonderful people to meet! i hope that you enjoy your trip!!!

and as for springfiled show..it is by far one of the bEST fleas/antique shows around and falls on the same weekend ! http://www.springfieldantiqueshow.com/index.php?option=com_gcalendar&view=gcalendar&Itemid=20#year=2011&month=9&day=1&view=month you could go to country living fri and sat..then hit springfiled on sunday on your way back.......(best day for deals anyway !) hope to see you at the fair !
