{sigh...} love a white painted floor...

I am working on a new little project...and I find myself obsessed with 2 things this morning.

White Paint + Wood Floors

I went searching Pinterest for inspiration, and just had to share some of these beautiful images.

{sigh...}

Love those floors, but that desk, the chairs and the lighting aren't so bad, either!

Everything just seems to 'pop' against a white floor...

I have so much love for the old, rustic wood...

I love the gaps...and the cracks...

The imperfections are so beautiful...

So very European...yet so American Farmhouse...at the same time.

And just because this one is my favorite...I'm showing it to you again.

{smile...}

So there you have it. In case you ever wondered how I spend my Wednesday mornings. I am doing laundry, dragging stuff out for a garage sale, cleaning my kitchen and dreaming of painted wood floors. My crazy mind just works like that. Everything all jumbled up in there at once!

Oh, and if you are looking to shop this weekend...Tattered Tiques in Lake Barrington is open this weekend! They will be open Thuesday thru Saturday from 10-3. I brought some new goodies in last week, so stop out and take a peek!

  1. My mind works the same way! Between household chores, kids and all the inspirational ideas I see online, I can't seem to sleep at night! Sometimes 24 hours in a day just isn't enough :)

  2. I love the look of a white painted floor, too.. but it would never work for me. My dogs are always in and out, and even with a wood floor, you can still see footprints when there's any type of moisture. They do look dreamy, though!

  7. I too am in love with white floors! So much so that my husband and I have painted the floors in 4 rooms of our house! It's sooo easy to live with and lightens everything up beautifully. Not to mention a great back drop for taking photos of all my finished projects! Kate x

  8. I love white floors. i have friends who say they are just dirty all the time but i might just be obnoxious enough to have to prove it to myself that they can be kept clean. I love the old floors with the cracks and gaps too but my hubby doesn't:(

  9. I love the look but with only half our basement stairs painted white (and boys and a shedding chocolate Lab) there is no way on earth I would be able to live with them. I can keep those 6 little stairs clean, but the dog hair just never stops :)

  10. LOVE the painted floors... I have painted wood floors and I love them... gaps, imperfections and all! However, mine are a "mud brown" and a "khaki"... mostly the mud brown since I have 2 labs and a husband who seems to think if he tiptoes in dirty shoes I won't know he wore them inside :)

  11. Your favorite shot above-I pinned that a while back. I love white floors and want to do it, but we have 9inch wooden tile instead of hardwood and I am having a hard time seeing it. Great inspiration shots!

  13. I love to look at them, but I wonder if I'd love to live with them? I guess in an old, perfect farmhouse, I could get used to it!

  15. We have just such wood floors in our 1857 farm.
    We painted them a buttercup yellow...cat fur blends just a bit better with that color for us (smile).

  16. We have an amazing bedroom (well, it has amazing potential) and one day I hope to paint these floors white!! The wood is from an old grain elevator in Texas and while they are fabulous, they are also an orangey brown. {insert wrinkled nose here}

  26. BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN
    Why American men should boycott American women

    Boycott American Women

    I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don't know how to cook or clean, don't want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?

    American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.

    This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.

    Tens of millions of American men have had their lives completely destroyed by American women through the following crimes:

    1. False rape accusations (it has been proven that up to 80 percent of rape accusations are FALSE)

    2. False domestic violence (DV) charges (same as above)

    3. Financial destruction of men in divorce courts through alimony and support payments (women get up to 95 percent of their ex-husband's income and savings, as well as the house, car, etc)

    4. Emotional destruction of men by ex-wives who have stolen their children from them and forbidden the fathers from having custody or contact with their own children

    5. Divorced dads who commit suicide as a result

    Not one single American woman has EVER condemned their fellow American women for committing these crimes against men. Silence means consent. Therefore, American women support and enjoy destroying men's lives and causing men to commit suicide. Apparently, American women think it is okay to be a criminal, just as long as you are a woman. Therefore, is it any surprise that a huge percent of American men no longer want anything to do with American women, other than using them for easy sex and then throwing them away?

    A few more reasons to stay away from American women?

    -25 percent of American women take psychiatric drugs for mental illnesses.
    -25 percent of women under the age of 30 have at least one STD.
    -85 percent of divorces in America are INITIATED by women, thus women are responsible for the vast majority of divorces.
    -70 percent of criminals in America were raised by single mothers, thus feminism is responsible for most crime in America.
    -The majority of child molestation, child abuse, and child murder in America is done by WOMEN.

    Over 50 percent of American women are single, without a boyfriend or husband; so the fact is most American men no longer want to marry American women. Let these worthless American women grow old living alone with their 10 cats.

    BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN!

    1. Anonymous...
      YOU are a joke. A pathetic joke.
      And of course you don't have a profile pic to go with your "Anonymous" name.
      Because if you did, it would be the face of ignorance.

  28. The kitchen you adore is featured in a lovely cooking show called 'The Delicious Miss Dahl' (author Roald Dahl's granddaughter). They've altered it for the show, and it has gorgeous green wallpaper which creates a more cozy atmosphere. You can find clips of it on youtube. I highly recommend it!

  32. I love a white painted floor too, there is just something about it! I am making a nursery in our beach cottage for our baby boy due in 6 weeks and I tore out the flooring, exposed REALLY old hardwood planks and painted them white. I'm doing the walls in white bead board and am very excited about the soothing all white nursery. Did I mention this room is six feet by six feet? Gotta love an old cottage!

  33. These white floors are INSPIRING! I have aweful wood floors that have been sanded and resanded, and "bleached" (by a previous owner) and they are hideous. However... this paint idea might be just what the Doctor ordered! It's beautiful! Thank you for sharing! <3
