bittersweet...

My sweet Dad went to heaven yesterday.

The world has lost one of the best men that have ever lived.

We learned he had cancer just 3 weeks ago. During his final days he was faithful and dignified. I am happy for him that the end was swift, but long enough that we were all able to see him, talk to him and hug him all we could.

He was always ready. Never afraid.
He was looking forward to going home, even though leaving us was hard.

So today, while we are remembering those that were affected by 9/11...please squeeze me sweet Daddy in your thoughts, too.

I love this man. So much.

  6. In my e-mail this morning - might be a comfort for you during this time....
    Isaiah 57:1-2
"The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."

  73. Mary.....I am so very sorry for your loss....I sit here typing with tears as I know what your going through, I lost my mother 13yrs ago with a sudden illness. I dear friend whom had lost his father 2 yrs before told me right after my mom passed that in time my thoughts and memories would bring smiles to my face instead of tears......I can say that yes, I do smile and even laugh with my sisters now when we think of her.......but there are still days when the emotions creep in and I cry a good cry.

Heaven is full of some awfully good people, and I've read so many books in the last 19 mos about death, dying, near-death experiences, etc, and I know beyond all doubt that they are happier than they've ever been. Joining them gives us all something to look forward to. My deepest sympathies to you and your mom and your family.
