sourcing my number stamp...

How amazing it is to wake up on a chilly, rainy Friday morning and find my inbox flooded with emails about one of my little projects! I got hit with the most wonderful double whammy today, having my numbered cabinet featured on BOTH The Handmade Home & Maple & Magnolia! (THANK YOU, Ashley & Susan!) I had no idea this was going to happen ~ oh happy day!

I paint and sell and lot of furniture...so I need things to be quick and efficient when it comes to completing a project. To number the drawers on this one, I used a silicone stamp with a clear block rather than a stencil. Stamps are soooo much faster and easier!

The million dollar email question of the day is "where did you find the stamp?"

I purchased these last fall, and they were in the "stamp isle" at my local Michaels. Here is a photo so you know which package you are looking for...

And here is the UPC, just in case that make them easier to find. The clerk in the store may be able to search their system to see if they can find you some. I did check the Michael's website, but didn't see them.

UPDATE: I was able to find 3 sets locally this morning! Email me if you would like I set! $8 each, and that includes shipping!

I am going to stop at Michael's today, so will inquire while I am there to see what info they can give me on how or where to find them.

Want to see the full tutorial on how I complete the cabinet? Click here...

A BIG THANK YOU to Ashley & Susan for making my day!

I wish you all a Friday just as happy!

I'm over at Vintage Junky today!

Just checking in to say hello to everyone! I really thought life would slow down a little and I would have more time to blog when my show season ended a few weeks ago...but the whirlwind continues!

I am a busy little bee setting up an Estate Sale at my hubs grandmother's home and planning the updates to her cute little bungalow in hopes of a quick sale when it is finally on the market. So don't forget about me! I will show you some of my projects as I go through the process of updating her cute little home. Sorting through 85 years of "life" has been all-consuming the last few weeks. But I am finding some amazing things I will be adding to my Etsy shop over the next few weeks!

And for some fun news...come see my post over at Vintage Junky today! Michelle is doing a fabulous series every Wednesday called "What I Keep" and I am spilling the secrets of the finds I just can't seem to part with! I'm even going to add a few new goodies to my Etsy shop in honor of the occasion!

I'll be back soon! I just need to get through this Estate Sale this weekend so I can breathe again!

one AMAZING DIY kitchen makeover!

Have you girls seen this gorgeous kitchen??? I am sure you, have...but I decided I just had to showcase it anyway! I am in L-O-V-E!  Kimberley, from Restoration House completed a DIY makeover on her kitchen...I am in crazy about every little detail!

It never ceases to amaze me what one can do with a can of white paint and a brush...

I know you are gonna love this as much as I do...so ENJOY!

One thing I love about Kimberley is that she is all about the details....

I can't stop staring at her faucet...is that weird??

I think I want one.

I love that she took basic, oak cabinets...

and transformed them into this gorgeous kitchen.

All.by.herself.

(Well, ok...the Hubby was right along side her, but you know what I mean.)

(All photos are property of Kimberley at Restoration House, and used with her permisson. Please do not copy.)

You have to see more of this kitchen, girls! It's a good one, so pop over to Restoration House and have a look at all her gorgeous photos!

Amazing.

mary...mary...

My namesake.

A beautiful dresser with curves and carvings...and she is painted the most beautiful shades of gray and white!

My friend Michelle...from Vintage Junky...gave new life to this antique beauty. One day last week she posted a note on Twitter saying she needed to come up with a name for a piece she was finishing. (She names all the pieces she paints, isn't that the coolest thing? Why don't I ever think of things like that??)

Anyway, I of course responded that "Mary" sounded like a nice simple, yet vintage name. Hee....hee!

Wow. As I just typed that I realized even my first name is considered 'vintage'. My Mom knew what she was doing!

Anyway, that crazy girl Michelle did name her Mary!! And I love her. Every inch of gray paint and chippy-ness is just so "me", so I would say the name fits perfectly!

I love how she lined the drawers...

The contrast of the gray and the white is so beautiful...and those handles??...beyond fabulous!

Now, who lives in Tennessee and wants to adopt me...I mean 'Mary'??

I wish I lived closer, because I would scoop her up for my guest bedroom. I hear she is waiting patiently at her new home at Winchester Antiques in Franklin, TN so if someone makes the drive to take her home, I want to hear about it! And just so you know, I will be jealous.

Oh, and did you all know Michelle has an incredible Etsy shop, too!? Well she does...so click over and take a look at the goodies she has to offer. I've got my eye on a couple of things myself! She has an amazing collection of milk glass and tarnished silver that makes my little heart go pitter-patter!

Ok, I am off for another day at my warehouse. I have 2 huge trucks that need to be loaded with furniture on Thursday, so I have to get the finishing touches done today! I hope to have a photo preview of what I am bringing to the show on the blog by Friday.

Wish me luck!

I am humbled...

I am humbled.

As I sit here trying to find the words to type in this post, I can truly feel the love that has traveled from the beautiful state of Texas...all the way to the tip top of the state of Illinois. And it is all thanks to one of the most incredible girls I have ever met...my friend, Anne from Fiona & Twig.

She knows how much I love her farmhouse...with its white clapboard siding and the cutest porch I have ever seen. I have told her to beware, because I am a girl that is known for a spur-of-the moment roadtrip...
.

...and one day she may come home to find me sipping lemonade and sitting in her porch swing.

Can you blame me?...have you ever seen a cuter porch or swing in all your life??

*sigh*

(above photos courtsey of Fiona & Twig)

Isn't it amazing and crazy all at the same time how blogging has brought people together that would normally never have met in their 'real' life?? I think about that a lot. How there are a so many of you I think about throught my day. It is incredible, really that I could find so many friends without ever actaully meeting in person.  People that, due to geography, I never in a million years would have crossed paths with had I not hit that "post" button for the very first time.

Today Anne made my day. She truly did. She took my little blog and shared it with her world. Now, if only I was as fabulous as her wonderful post made me sound!

From the bottom of my heart I am sending Anne a big hug and a huge thank you for making me her "blog of the month" over at Fiona & Twig.

Speaking of friends...I just have to mention this today. Have you seen the INCREDIBLE clock Andrea whipped up over at Faded Plains??

(photo courtsey of Faded Plains)

I am seriously in love with it...and she's showing you how you can make one, too...for only $27.94!! Can you believe that? She is so amazing. Her tutorial is simple so if you have swooned over Maria's gorgeous clock like I have, get over to Andrea's blog and check it out!

I am off to photograph some amazing finds for the shop! This seems to be the week of old metal signs, lots of old paper with a little ironstone and wood thrown into the mix! I was junking my way through rural Wisconsin recently, so have some goodies to share! Be sure to stop by tonight and see whats new!

The countdown is on....less than 2 days before I am Minnesota bound for another roadtrip!

happy cupcake day...

Ummm...I meant Happy Valentine's Day!

You will have to forgive me. I am down with the worst flu of my life, so my brain is not functioning quite right. I blame it on the Tamiflu but maybe the 27 hours of straight sleep and fever have something to do with it.

The hubs got up extra early this morning to make me cupcakes. What is it about a cupcake, anyway?? I enjoy them so much more than a piece of cake. It must be their extra bit of cuteness. He made chocolate ones with pink frosting and red sprinkles that he bought all by himself. I was so proud.

*sigh...I love that man*

I did attempt to eat one, I wish I was feeling better so I could have enjoyed it more, but the gesture was so sweet. I am not feeling very creative today, so I am leaving you with the most beautiful cupcake inspiration I have ever seen...courtsey of one of my favorite websites, Style Me Pretty.

They had a feature today on Enjoy Cupcakes, which caters cupcakes for your special occasion. Anytime someone wants to surprise me by having this cute little trailer show up in my backyard...I will not mind one bit.

Wishing you a day filled with happiness and love...and cupcakes!

Hopefully I will be back tomorrow or Wednesday if I can shake this flu! I have a little guest room update and I want to show you, and an Etsy update with lots of painted furniture that is ready to ship!
